Jalebi is a form of indian dessert that's pretty much the best thing on earth. It takes like biting into a liquid daydream of your younger self winning that award for that thing you never got to do. And by that I mean a lightly fried dough with a molten honey center. And that's almost what it is! Minus the honey. But keep the molten. 

Basically, it comes down to this, it's a mixture of flower and day old yogurt (trust me, that's gross on its own) deep fried in oil and cooled in sweetened rose water (add lime!) sugar...glaze? Dip? I don't know the term. I'm drinking wine and writing this out because I decided I should write more things. #personalgrowth

Anyway, my thoughs on jalebi are as follows: It's cultural, it's exotic, and having desserts from foriegn places makes you seem classy. And less racist. 

Try it out!

HOW TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN TO YOUR MOUTHPARTS:

• 2 cups self raising flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1 cup yogurt
• Saffron
• 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
• 2 drops orange food colour (<--- totally optional, skip that part if you wanna be cool and eat it in the RAW)
• 2 tbsps rose water (<--- this can also double as a fancy thing you have on your shelf. Frederick loves rosewater in his baths.) 

After you've gathered all of your ingredients, go to a website that tells you what to do. Or watch this video made by this lovely Indian guy. I think he might be my real dad.

Hey lovelies, 

I just wanted to do a quick blog update to let everybody know where I'm at. Basically, I have two new MDKs "in the can" (as they say in fancy-land) and am working on editing them. AS A BONUS, I will also be uploading tiny accompanying travel videos about my experience leading up to the shooting of each new MDK. Or something like that. Mainly, I'm just trying to get you guys some more content.

Hey all! 

So I've noticed a lot of items up for debate on the Facebook fan page. Let me clear up a few matters here:

1) "Where is the new video?! I hate you forever."

I would also very much like to do/see a new video! That's the fun part, remember? I can only ask that your trust and patience don't wane as my real life keeps me from making new vids all the time. Currently, I'm out of an apartment and floating around from couch-to-couch trying to find a new living situation while still working on projects and hoping to build this thing. MDK has not left my mind's eye for even a second! I just haven't been able to make one. I'm just not a profesh YouTuber yet, so I can't devote all my time to my channel. However, I'm hoping to get there. Hold fast!

2) "You're doing events? That's fake and gay. Also, you must be a millionaire now."

Yes, I am a super millionaire. That's why the suitcase that contains all my earthly possessions is made of GOLD. 

Does that clear some stuff up? I'm going to post an open Questions thread on the fan page. If I haven't cleared some things up, then just vote your pick and I'll answer the top three!

Hey all!

Very exciting times ahead for us here in teh tiny kitchen: 

1) VIDCON 2011! Vokle has invited me out there to host a live from VidCon2011 Q&A session. It's all very exciting because it gives us another chance to talk. I hope that I can see some of you guys there!

2) Mid-August I will be in San Francisco hosting a big public event! I'll give you a hint...the working title is "My Drunk Iron Kitchen Chef." Details to come! Sign up for the mailing list to get more immediate updates. 

3) August 17th at 7:00 p.m. I will be doing an event from the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe which will feature some viewings, some ramblings, and lots of beer and books. All proceeds go to charity - how can we go wrong?!

Hi, everybody! (Hi, Dr. Nick!)

Alrighty, so last week in honor of America Day we decided to indulge in a pastry delight. I must say that it was a surprisingly successful endeavour! So much so that I've just now decided to include the "recipe" as I recall it:

America Day Pie Cakes

Container Mix:
- 1 shtick of buttah 
- 2 cups of flour
- probably an egg 
- handful of sugar  

Apple Mix:
- roughly 3 or 4 half eaten apples 
- cinnamon
- apple cider vinnegar
- salt
- ...and apparently some funfetti as well...

Chef Mix:
- 2 bottles of cidah

Directions:

Step one: Mix everything that's not an apple into a bowl!
Step two: Cut up apples and mix with apple mix!
Step three: Drink and bake until done - yay!

Receptacle is your choice, of course. This is AMERICA. We are about FREEDOM. 

Anyway, that's the latest and greatest with me. In terms of my actual life, I've recently battled strep throat and am currently on my sister's couch mooching off of her good will. Ah, to be the younger half.
